FAQ

OOI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, accredited, alternative private high school, registered with the state of Oregon, whose mission is to develop academic programs for Oregon youth and adults who have not been successful in other school settings. Although OOI contracts with school districts, it also  provides educational services for students regardless of whether the student is connected to a school district. OOI enrolls youth and adults who have stopped attending school, or who are at risk of not attending school. Working with a variety of social service organizations, other schools, and government agencies, OOI has become a leader in the development of successful, innovative alternative education programs.

Every Oregon Outreach classroom is led by a licensed teacher who typically holds at least a Master’s degree.

OOI is accredited through AdvancEd, and its graduates have been accepted into colleges, apprenticeship programs, and the military.

Yes, OOI curriculum meets all established standards for content and grade level.

Although it is difficult to describe a “typical” OOI student, OOI is a great fit for students who prefer more individualized instruction, smaller class sizes, a shorter schedule, and a safe, welcoming environment where they get to know their instructors. OOI’s goal is to work with school districts and communities to find solutions for students who are not succeeding in large traditional schools, district alternative programs, or adults who have not completed their high school diploma.
